One week ’til Christmas
Writing is hard.
Well, at least that is the way it seems sometimes.
As part of our continuing series “X Days ’til Christmas” I have been given the task of updating you on all that happened today. Let’s get started, shall we?
Colleen had a busy day at work today. Not only was she in charge of a training seminar at work (which drew a crowd of about 25), she had her interview for the ILL position. Last night we were practicing some questions she thought she would be asked and from the sounds of it, most of the questions they asked were ones that we anticipated. Colleen didn’t feel like it went very well but I’m sure she is just being modest. Timing in at approximately 13 minutes, it sounded pretty anti-climactic. Apparently she will now have to wait until the end of January before the next part of the interview process happens. Continue reading »

Well, it is my turn to write a post - and boy do I have some news! I got a call this afternoon at work to set up a phone interview for the ILL Manager position - go team! I had just been talking about this position with my friend S at work and then the next thing you know I get a call about it! I am hoping that they make their choice before the break but I am pretty sure that I will have all of the holiday closure (Dec 21-Jan 1) to worry about it. Oh well, at least I will have started the process. I am kind of excited that the first part of the interview is over the phone because I think I interview over the phone really well. People are totally going to laugh at me tomorrow because I will still be dressed up - it can’t hurt! Continue reading »
9 Days ’til Christmas
Ok, Colleen has nicely placed the laptop on my… well, lap with this post editor up so I guess that’s my cue to write something :-p
For the most part, things have been slow the last couple days. We finished up finding a gift (well, gifts) for Momma Garcia so that’s one more person off the list. I went in search of a digital picture frame for my grandma yesterday but struck out at both Circuit City and Target where their “most affordable” models were long gone. Well, we have officially hit the ten day mark until Christmas and needless to say - I’m pumped! I have almost received all of Sat’s Christmas presents in the mail (just waiting on one package today) and the tree is looking mighty full of presents. I even started playing some Christmas carols on the new keyboard last night. Now if only I had someone to sing them with! Trying to sing “Silent Night” and “Night of Silence” is very hard to do without another person. Luckily I found the “Silent Night” song on the keyboard so that I could just sing “Night of Silence”! Confused? They are both Christmas carols and when written/played/sung in the same key that can be sung on top of each other - really really pretty. I might have to teach Sat how to sing today ;). I must say though, I have gotten even worse at reading sheet music and I wasn’t sure that was possible! it was nice to sing again though. I am seriously rusty but nothing that Christmas Carols won’t help me fix. Continue reading »
