Yes, every once in a while it’s nice to toot your own horn. While scrounging around for ideas about things to post about I came up with an easy one: a New Years Resolution status update.
For all intents and purposes, we are kicking ass. Here’s a quick rundown:
- Post To Blog More Often (Both) – Although we went through a dry spell at the beginning of the month, I think we are back on track.
- Quit Watching Gilmore Girls (Colleen) – Colleen has been GG free since 2007. Sure, she threatens to turn it on every once in a while but I think she has pretty much kicked the habit. As a side note, we’ve seen all of the episodes of Two and a Half Men that they air on the CW. We haven’t been watching it as much lately either.
- Quit Biting Nails (Sat) – I have surprised myself with this one. All though I catch myself every once in a while letting them hover near my mouth, I don’t ever bite them off.
- 25 Sit-Ups a day (Sat) – I don’t think this one we in our original post but my goal is to do at least 25 sit ups every day. I started about a week into the New Year but since then I’ve only missed one day (when it slipped my mind)
- A Veggie With Every Dinner (Both) – This one has been hit or miss. We definitely aim to do it but sometimes we stretch it a bit (e.g. sometimes we consider roasted potatoes to be our veggie.)
Even though I’m not Catholic, I have picked up a “Lent Resolution” this year. My goal: eat less salt. It’s hard to judge exactly how I’m doing with this one since I don’t really keep strict tabs on my sodium intake but I have cut down on the amount of chips I eat and have tried to avoid the super-salty quick lunch foods I used to get (like the Simply Asia meals).
I suppose that is it for tonight. I’m trying to come up with a post about cutting down on our trash but I get all worked up when I think about it so I need to try to make the post sound a little less angry. While you are waiting, why don’t you leave a comment saying how your resolutions are going?
