CHRISTMAS IS TOMORROW!

December 24th, 2007

Chef SatCan you tell that I am a little excited?? As you can see I have already posted pictures of the first opened Christmas gifts. I had Sat open one this morning (12:01 am this morning!) so that he could have it for today. He definitely thought I was off my rocker insisting that he open one of his presents so early. I had to keep reassuring him that this wasn’t some trick so that I could open some of my presents early. My reasoning? We had decided to make our big Christmas meal today so that we wouldn’t have to worry about it tomorrow. Plus, he has been promising me cookies for weeks now and today is supposed to be the day that he makes them. Now, if you have ever been within a block of Sat when he is cooking you know that he is famous for getting food all over his clothes, and then crying about it. I figured if he opened this present BEFORE he started cooking I wouldn’t have to but him anymore clothes! Although we have now decided to push back the big meal (Tofurky is thawed) he used his apron to make pancakes this morning and is working on the cookie as we speak - yummy cooookies.

We haven’t really been up to much today. We had pancakes for breakfast and played with the kitties. Sat went to the grocery store this morning to get some last minute items before the stores close for the holidays. I made some Vegan Rice Crispy treats this afternoon. Not all the great. Looks like we bought the wrong kind of generic cereal. Please note that Rice Krispies are toasted rice cereal, not puffed rice cereal. Sat had picked up the puffed (because that is what we both thought it was). We only noticed after we had made them that it wasn’t the right kind. Tastes like stale rice krispies - but it is okay. Now we know for next time (and have a bag and a half of puffed rice to make rice cakes with!).

Since we have decided to put off our big meal we are planning on fajitas and some “Brain Game” tonight. Should be fun. When we were looking for a gift for Nino (Sat’s dad) we came across a dvd brain teaser game - similar to the PSP game that you see in the commercials. We are excited not only because it will make us smarter but also because it is something that just the two of us can play together OR we can invite friends over to play. I just hope it is as fun as we think it will be!

Wanna know my favorite thing in the whole world? This morning I started up the computer and went to check my mail . . . the one piece of mail I got was from Discover - “Your credit card statement is available online”. Merry Christmas to you too! Thankfully Sat and I are pretty thrifty so we don’t have much to worry about. Plus, by the time that one is due I may have a new job :-P

Okay, I think that is the end of my random rants for the day. Hopefully there will be MUCH more to write about tomorrow. Who knows, I might even add some more tonight depending on what ONE present I get to open tonight before we go to bed.

Happy Christmas Eve and good luck sleeping tonight!

Colleen
